About The Sea Of Support Team
We are a small committee of four, together with volunteers, big hearts and a passion to ensure no family or individual who is neurodiverse ever feels alone or unsupported. So we are here to offer support and to also put on meetings, events and trips for our members and their families to attend without any judgement, just support and understanding.
We hear your struggles, we see your frustration, we understand your needs and we are here for you. We can sign post you to other professionals that can help too. But who are we you ask? What makes us able to offer support? Well apart from having lived experience either by having neurodiverse children or being neurodiverse ourself we have also undergone lots of courses and we are still doing more courses so we can support you in the best possible way. I won't add our lived experience years together as it will make us feel old and the white hairs do enough of that already.
Here are just some of the courses we have collectively completed.
Level 2 understanding autism.
Level 2 managing challenging behaviour
Mental Health first aid course
Sensory profile course.
Level 2 SEND course
IPSEA SEND LAW Levels 1 & 2
We have also attended more workshops then we can list involving topics such as PDA, ARFID and Pica, Sensory Circuits, Sensory Regulation and many many more.
We currently have some of the committee members completing IPSEA SEND LAW which level 1 has already been completed just levels 2 and 3 to go.
All committee members are also DBS checked but we still ask that all children are supervised by their parents/carers.
We hope this gives you an insight into the determination and dedication we have as a committee to be able to support you the best way we can through lived experience and training.
If you have any questions we are happy to answer them but just know we are here keeping you afloat in a sea of hope.Â
